By Bus:
 
 From any location in San José you can take a taxi to MUSOC Bus Station (bus company that offers the service to the area of Los Santos, where Tarrazú it is located). Once at the station you will need to go to the ticket window and purchase your ticket to San Marcos de Tarrazú. The travel time from San José and San Marcos de Tarrazú is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Please note that some buses will make a stopover in Cartago, which may add about 30 minutes to your trip.

It is recommended that you arrive at the MUSOC bus station one hour before your desired departure time. In order to travel to San José from Los Santos we recommend that you purchase a ticket at least one day in advance. The cost of the ticket is about US$3.00 and must be paid in cash and in colones at the time of purchase. Prices are subject to change without notice.

By Car:
 
 From San José, take the Florencio del Castillo highway towards Cartago. Before entering Cartago you must follow the Southern Route also known as the road to San Isidro del General in Pérez Zeledón. After 52 Kilometers (33 miles approximately) you will arrive to a small mountain village called “El Empalme” where you will find a gas station as well as an open market selling flowers and fruits on the right hand side of the highway. On the right hand side of the highway you will find the road to San Marcos in Tarrazú. On you have turned right and you will continue for 14 kilometers (9 miles approximately) until you reach Santa Maria de Dota. Once in Santa Maria de Dota you will turn right and continue for 4 km. (3 miles) until you reach San Marcos de Tarrazú.

The distance from San Jose to San Marcos de Tarrazú is approximately 70 kilometers (44 Miles). The travel time from San Jose and San Marcos de Tarrazú by car is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
